Massage Therapy / Massage Technology (Oncology Massage )

Oncology massage uses light touch and slow, steady movements, working with the central nervous system to help the body relax. MASSAGE THERAPY/ MASSAGE TECHNOLOGY therapists can make adaptations for site, pressure, and position. It differs from other types of massages because it does not focus on the movement of fluid it however uses gentle pressures to make connections with the tissue. Most massage types focus on the movement of blood and lymph, and this is sometimes contraindicated for these types of massage. Deep tissue massage, or any type of massage that involves strong pressure, should never be used if one is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. These clients may have a decrease in red and white blood cells, so there is a risk of bruising with deep tissue massage.

Massage Technology/ Massage Therapy (Aqua Massage)

Trending – Aqua Massage

Have you ever wondered if a massage exists where you don’t have to get undressed? Well, you are in luck! The Aqua Massage can solve all your problems. It’s a tech savvy massage that lets you remain fully clothed and dry while receiving a full body massage. The massage bed soothes pain, increases circulation, reduces stress, and revives painful, aching muscles in just a 10–15-minutes.

More than 70 different countries are making use of this incredible massage bed. You can find this state-of-the-art massage service in medical practices, spas, salons, fitness centers, retail sites and wellness centers. Why not offer aqua massage as a form of extra income? You can treat two clients at the same time, one client on the massage bed and another having a massage treatment with a massage therapist.

How does Aqua Massage work?

The client remains clothed and dry for privacy and comfort with no post-session cleanup of water or oils. An inverted V-shaped spray bar with 36 water jets is contained under an acrylic canopy. The powered canopy opens and allows easy access for the client to lie down on the cushion. A high-strength waterproof barrier separates the client from the water.

The spray bar travels forward and back, massaging the full length of the body, or it may be easily programmed to concentrate on a specific area.

The water jets are separated into four groups of 9 jets each and will provide a full 180-degree body massage. The pulsating water jets can be adjusted from a relaxing 2 cycles per second, up to an invigorating 10 cycles per second.

Benefits of the Aqua massage system:

  • The pulsation can be varied for maximum effect and client sensitivity. The water immediately drains off the barrier and back into the reservoir, where it is pumped back to the water jets.
  • The machine’s water pressure can be varied to suit the sensitivity of the client and with a consistency that is hard to match with manual massage.
  • The water temperature can be adjusted from approximately 32°C to 40°C using the electronic thermostat, assisting with client comfort.
  • No post-session clean-up or water disposal is necessary.
  • The Aqua Massage is self-contained. No plumbing or water disposal is required.

Massage Therapy/ Massage Technology: Trending – Fire Massage

As massage therapies expanded in popularity, so did the human need for creating innovative massages…

The fire massage (huǒ liáo) is considered a folk medicine by the Chinese and Tibetans. This teeth-clenching massage helps regulate the balance of cold-hot temperatures in the body. It is a method used to heat large areas on the body rather than individual points. It relieves areas affected by joint and muscular pain, reduces stress, and helps in weight loss.

One of the reasons for using fire is that extreme heat triggers an adrenaline response, which can shift your body’s chemistry, improving some symptoms like indigestion and slow metabolism.

You are probably wondering, what does this “dare devil” Fire massage procedure entail?

The procedure is to isolate the skin with a warm wet and wrung towel. A solution of isopropyl alcohol diluted with water is lightly spread over the desired area and then ignited for a series of seconds or until the patient is ready, subsequently it is put out with another warm wet towel. The procedure is repeated until the desired heat fills the body. This massage is particularly beneficial to heat large areas of the body to bring internal heat to the body, to heal muscular pain or contractures in the back, better yet, fire massage can be used as a compliment to other massage therapies

What does fire therapy treat?

Fire therapy is known to be used to treat various kinds of ailments like rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, cervical spondylosis, frozen shoulder, lumbar disc hernia, joint sprains, tumours, digestive problems, gynecology, and andrology just to name a few… Sport stars started making use of this therapy to strengthen immunity for post-coronavirus games… no wonder this became an increasingly popular alternative medicine offered by various countries worldwide.

Fire massage safety

Setting fire on one’s body is of course a risky endeavor, which obviously raises questions about its safety. There is not much medical evidence to prove that it works and no authorized certification either. That said, fire therapists do need to follow certain safety protocols: the fire should occur at the right acupuncture point, there must be a wet towel held by the attendant right next to the open fire, and the fire must be extinguished immediately if the patient feels too hot.

There is only one question left to ask; would you offer or go for this daring massage?

We offer a variety of MASSAGE TECHNOLOGY / MASSAGE TECHNOLOGY COURSES, expand your treatment massage offering in your spa and earn extra income.

Hairdressing (Colour Trends For 2022)

How dermaplaning works?

Booking a color appointment? We’ve got ideas for you. “New year, new me” might be tired, but you know what isn’t? A hair makeover. And there’s no shortage of cool hair color trends to try right now. While the biggest color trends of the past two years were all about natural, pretty takes on super-low-maintenance color, like un-done blonde and cinnamon brown shades.

Leading experts predict 2022 is going to be all about having fun as life starts to return to normal, well, we hope.

That doesn’t mean you have to dye your hair pink. Rather, there are plenty of unexpected twists and tales on classic hair color ideas that are trending as well. Why ask for basic highlights when you can order up caramel ribbons or silver champagne? Some of the world’s top experts have emphasized on the best hair color trends to try right now, from vintage blonde to bright blue. Here’s what to consider for your next appointment.

  • Over the past year we’ve seen many blonde celebs like Gigi Hadid and Hailey Bieber trade in their blonde for a pretty brown hair color, and we expect to see more following in their footsteps for 2022. Brunette colors is all about giving deeper hair energy, dimension, and detail, it’s all too easy when going for a darker shade of hair color to apply one tone all over, a similar result to using a box dye at home. But really, I’m of the opinion that as a professional hair colorists’ its forever the responsibility of the hairdresser to give our clients something they could never get at home, and so expensive brunette is all about adding detail and interest with multiple deeper shades to make the result more dimensional and expensive looking.”
  • If you’re interested in trying out expensive brunette, it’s important to use some specific language at the salon: “The key element to discuss with your hairstylist is that you don’t want one flat color all over. Expensive brunette is all about depth and dimension, and so you and your colorist should agree on the deepest shade and the lightest shade you want to see in your hair and then allow the colorist to place shades between in a way they see fit to enhance your hair cut.”
  • Most retail clients will be looking at trying out these new modern trends and as a hairdresser, you should look to entice your clients and motivate them to try out these trending looks.
  • Even with the summer upon us starting twenty-twenty with some subtle tweaks will go a long way. One of the ways to start summer would be to encourage clients to go for richer, more dimensional versions of their winter and autumn looks,
  • For blondes, however that may mean adding ribbons of deeper shades of blonde to create more shade-on-shade dimension. This may also include glossing their hair to a deeper, buttery tone or playing with a fashion accent like marigold, peach or apricot. For brunette, adding a gloss to make your color richer, and adding more amber, gold, and “root beer” tones are great options.
  • Overall, the feeling is warmer, richer, and a more lived-in-looking hair color.” And that should maintain the overall trends that seems to take over.

These are some of the few trends that you can follow, some of them are being coveted by ‘A’ lister celebs in Hollywood, most clients are always on the lookout for these kinds of trends, modern refreshed looks are going to be in demand as always – clients with full social schedules are aware of these latest trends as a hairdresser you should first in line to explore these.

Health & Skincare / Aesthetics (Ultrasound Cavitation)

In HEALTH AND SKINCARE / AESTHETICS, Ultrasound Cavitation is an increasingly popular and painless body procedure that reduces fat and cellulite and improves the appearance of the body.

What is cavitation? In Health and Skincare (Aesthetics), we learn that cavitation is a non-invasive fat reduction treatment that uses ultrasound technology to reduce fat cells in targeted areas of the body. It is the preferred option for anyone who does not want to undergo extreme options such as liposuction, or a gastric bypass. It does not involve any needles or surgery. In addition to that, it has zero recovery time and is painless – often taking less than an hour.

How does ultrasound work? Ultrasound uses waves that produce alternating compression and decompression of fat cells through heat, causing them to be broken down into smaller pieces, then be absorbed into the bloodstream then eventually excreted by the body through the lymphatic system.

This method does not damage the blood nor lymphatic vessels because of the difference in consistency and elasticity. Fat cells are not elastic; hence they respond to the ultrasonic waves.

An ultrasound device like that used in pregnancy scans is applied to the targeted area, along with a specially designed cream. This device transmits concentrated levels of ultrasonic energy waves that target and destroy subcutaneous fat cells in the fat cell membrane. This procedure is not a weight loss treatment, the results you will see will be more of a circumferential reduction, in other words, you can’t know how much fat tissue you’ve lost, but you’ll notice by centimeters of how much fat you’ve lost in that targeted area.

It is also one of the only technologies available that can show you results as effective as those you expect from liposuction or surgery, provided you complete the recommended number of sessions (usually between 8-12), and follow a recommended nutritional eating plan as well exercise on a regular basis. The session usually feels like a massage with a handheld device, and you see a reduction of 1-4 cm’s with every session in the treated area.

What are the benefits of fat cavitation treatment? Unlike liposuction (which can be a daunting and extreme option for many), cavitation is the perfect fat reduction treatment for those that do not want to take any excessive measures. It is safe, non-surgical, and requires no recovery downtime.
